Two long-tailed macaques sharing a moment up high in the canopies of Kota Kinabalu, Borneo. There were so many monkeys I couldn't focus on one to take a photograph. But then two monkeys caught my eye, so, quickly, I focused and zoomed up as much as I needed and managed to take the photograph of their special moment just in time.
The Lantern Bugs of Borneo
On a Botany Walk in Mulu National Park, Borneo I spotted this beautiful insect. Usually, Lantern Bugs are a greyish-brown colour, I saw many Lantern Bugs like this. But this one was different, it was full of colour and beauty. Lantern Bugs usually are found in groups in the afternoon hanging around on the side of trees. This one was on it's own.
Survivor
As I walked on for my botany afternoon walk, I found a leaf poking out of place. As I looked closer I saw an animal. A lizard. But something was missing......I didn't dare look closer, so I used my camera to zoom in to see it more clearly, I found that it's tail must have been ripped off. Then, I took the shot moving the camera so that the lizard was in a clear position.
Three Diverse Leaves
I walked around my huge garden in Vientiane, Laos in search of three different leaves. I placed the leaves in a gutter in the sun, so that the texture in the background would bring out the shape of the leaves. I positioned the leaves as perfectly as I could, took the shot and then transferred it to black and white.
Boredom
On a canoe day trip in the middle of the rainforest in Borneo we stopped off at a village and found lots of interesting insects and people. There was a lady sewing stuff to sell, a grandfather fixing a broken motorbike and two kids running about. As I watched the kids, I found that they had stopped in boredom for a few seconds, looking in to the distance. I loved the expressions and the position of the two young kids.
Flower Power In Photography
The Golden Hour After the long day of day trips and photography I look out to the islands in the distance to see a beautiful golden sunset. The sun falling behind the island.
A Rogue in The Trees
Looking up, I saw one long-tailed macaque with a very long tail resting on a tree trunk, looking in to the distance. This position was one I couldn't miss, so, I zoomed up and took a photo of this "rouge in the trees."
A Single Seagull
One seagull flies down to walk along the shore, a beautiful sunset and sea behind it. I took the photo in Glenelg, Adelaide, Australia.
Leaf Symbolism
Going further with leaves and what they symbolise, I found an old metal leaf of mine and had an idea. I found a leaf that looked a lot like the metal one and placed them together on a wooden surface. Maybe I could experiment more with the background.......
Mosques of Saudi Arabia
I have just moved to Saudi Arabia and the sunsets here are amazing, compared to Laos. As I was walking along with my family, we saw the sun coming out just beside the beautiful mosque in front of us. I stopped to take this photo, and later on, edited the photo by enriching the colours.
